Superstar's much-awaited 'Kochadaiyaan' will go on floors on January 19, an auspicious day.

The shooting will commence in the AVM Pillayar temple and scenes featuring the Superstar and his sister played by Sneha will be canned first.

The film is produced and directed by Rajini's daughter, Soundarya Ashwin and will have music by Isai Puyal AR Rahman.

KS Ravikumar is also helping Soundarya with the direction.

A little birdie tells us that Aadhi who is eagerly awaiting his 'Aravaan' will also be seen in a pivotal role in this movie.

Prithviraj is also touted to be seen in an important role in this film.

However an official announcement from the makers listing the cast and crew is expected shortly.

Rajini will be seen in the titular role, as a king who is an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva and one with long tresses.

Brimming with hope that the starting of the year itself has turned out positive for them, the sources add: "Last Pongal the box office was dull and made only average collections. But scenes are straight contrasting this harvest festival.

Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu government exempted Vijay starrer 'Nanban', directed by Shankar, from entertainment tax, after it found that the film was in adherence to the new standards set by the AIADMK regime led by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

As per the new rules, a movie applying for tax exemption should have a 'U' certificate from the Regional Censor Board and should keep within Tamil culture and sensibility. Since the 22-member committee felt 'Nanban' followed all the rules, it recommended the movie fit to be exempted from tax.

This summer film goers will get to see a new something on big screen with the release of 'Naan Ee', a socio-fantasy Tamil-Telugu bilingual with Nani and Samantha in lead and Sudeep as an antagonist.

The film's first look has now been unveiled and true to the title has the 'Ee' (fly) hogging away the limelight in the posters, with an apt tagline that goes 'Buzzing your summer' and 'The flying star takes off this summer'.
